...words with subscript

Okay, this is the fun part and what we have been trying to acheive all along.
We are going to read KHMER!!!! YEPEE!! (jumping)
This will test all of what you have learn so far.
Before you begin to sound out the word, ALWAYS look at the consonant FIRST! And then any vowel surrounding the consonant.
[NOTE:] The English spelling here are just an approximate of what I think it sounds like in KHMER, PLEASE PLEASE use your native tongue when trying to sound out these words.

The subscript takes its consonant sound!!! Let's see how this works.

Whenever you see a subscript below a consonant. The subscript takes its consonant sound.
In this case, you see the subscript "WOR"....the subscript and its consonant are a pair. You can use one or the other in certain situation but the sound fOr both of them are the same.

SAR + WAR + sat AH = SWAH

Again same rule apply. You see the subscript "GAR" under the consonant "CHAR".
CHAR + GAR + sat AAH= CHGAAH

CAT
CAT
CHAR + MOR + sat AH = CHMAH
Here is the subscript again. The subscript is "MOR" under the consonant "CHAR".

RAT
RAT
This one has the subscript "DAR" and the vowel "sat OTH".
GAR + NAR + DAR + sat OTH + ROR= GNDOH
Whenever you see "ROR" at the end of a word, it is usually silent. You don't pronounce it.
Think of the English word "joke", the "-e" is silent.
[Special Note:] The consonant "DAR" and "TDAR" has the same subscript. You would try both consonant sound to see which one fits.
If it dont sound right it don't fit. Don't worry about it too much, when you read Khmer a lot you'll recognize the word immediately.
